Legendary actor Hal Holbrook performs his signature piece, Mark Twain Tonight with a heartfelt enthusiasm for the celebrated American author of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” and “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.” Holbrook’s off-Broadway production has entertained for more than five decades amidst critical acclaim and continues to draw inspiration from a literary legacy that has shaped the American experience since the late 1860s. Mark Twain Tonight is a living, breathing, American masterpiece and a jewel in the history of literary theater.


Join us at the Appleton Public Library for a discussion of Mark Twain and his books on Wednesday, April 27 starting at 7:00 p.m. in the lower level meeting room. Watch clips from Ken Burn’s PBS documentary “Mark Twain” and share your opinions on book banning and the decision of one American publisher to edit the language of “Huckleberry Finn.”
