In the Mood Review

Capitol Steps Review

CHICAGO The Musical Review

What is your real job?
Performance Assessment Specialist – a fancy corporate name for someone who monitors and evaluates customer service and sales phone calls.

What is your dream job?
Fulltime writing and editing – of almost anything creative.

What do you do during your free time?
Read, write and edit – seriously.  For love or money. Participate actively in a writers’ group.

What are your musical preferences?
My husband likes Big Band – me not so much! Varied – not an expert in any type. Heavy metal is not my style. Country is not a favorite, though I enjoy some of it. Love a great pianist, jazz is usually great, like Gospel and symphonies.

What are your favorite TV shows?
British comedies, “House” and medical murder mysteries (“Bones,” etc.), “History Detectives” on PBS and many other PBS offerings.

What are your favorite movies?
Dramas – a good, true story that wrenches the heart, Comedy – clean, funny, whether they make a point or just entertain – sometimes you feel like thinking, sometimes you don’t.

What is a little known fact about you?
I was a champion mud wrestler at 21 years old (not true, but I’ve convinced many people it is, so please don’t spoil it for me.)

What is your favorite Broadway show?
I could never decide - but I’ve read the book “Wicked” and can’t WAIT to see it! My tastes are really varied.

What was the first show you saw at the P.A.C.?
I cannot remember – haven’t seen nearly as many as I’d like to.

If you could star in a Broadway show, which role/show would you choose and why?
Dolly in Hello Dolly or Yentl in Fiddler on the Roof.  A feisty woman

Has there been one show you thought you wouldn’t like and ended up enjoying?
The Lion King – so much hype, I hadn’t seen the cartoon & didn’t know if it would be worth the money. The spectacle alone was worth it – the costumes, the talent, the set were extremely impressive. I was in awe!

How about a show you thought you would love and was disappointed?
Spamalot wasn’t quite what I’d expected and I probably didn’t enjoy it as much as I’d thought I would.
