For my “real” job, I am a chef, teacher, doctor, events planner, schedule coordinator, maid, chief financial officer, purchaser, trainer, referee, entertainer, chauffeur, mediator, psychologist, dog walker and just an all around personal assistant doing “other duties as assigned.” In other words, I’m a stay at home mom.
Other than the job I have right now, of course, I think it would be amazing to be a marine biologist. I love the ocean and could imagine myself spending my days exploring its unknown depths. Plus, I think it is one of our greatest untapped resources and studying ways to preserve it would be a fulfilling career, which I think is important if you want to be happy in your job.
What free time?! I’m actually serious when I write that, but I’m guessing you want to hear about my hobbies. When I do find myself with some time on my hands, I like to read and get out in nature, whether it be hiking in a park or boating and swimming in a lake or just sitting in my backyard. I also enjoy gardening, flower and vegetable, around my home. I LOVE to travel, but don’t get to do that as often as I used to.
My music tastes are pretty eclectic; I like anything other than country. I think I got burned out on country when I was young and that’s all my mom listened to. If I’m not listening to “Wheels on the Bus” I usually have my station tuned to pop, top 40, or an 80’s station (when I can find one).
I’m not a big fan of TV; I can’t stand all the reality shows and that seems to be all that’s on! But I am addicted to “Lost” and “Desperate Housewives” and that’s about it. Oh, and my husband loves “Two and a Half Men,” so I watch that and I do find it hilarious.
My favorite movie is “The Black Stallion.” I can watch it over and over and dream of racing down the beach on that horse! I like the Harry Potter movies also. I think the way the magical fantasy world of Hogwarts is brought to life on the screen is just miraculous.
I’ve been skydiving! I did it while in college and it was breathtaking. Luckily it was a tandem dive, as I almost forgot to pull the rip-cord until the instructor “smacked” me and pointed to the thing that counts down how far you are from the ground. I was so wrapped up in looking at the scenery, it just slipped my mind. Oops!
I think I’d have to say Hamlet, just because it was the first show I ever saw and it turned me on to theater forever. We went to see it for a high school English class and I was hooked. I felt like I was right there in the action and was transported to another time and place.
Go Diego Go! And it rocked!! We were dancing in the aisles, it really engaged the kids (and parents too).
I’d be Rizzo from Grease. I would choose that show just because it brings back childhood memories, I can’t even remember how many times I’ve seen that movie. I wouldn’t have to rehearse because I’m pretty sure all of those songs will be forever etched on my brain. I’d want to be Rizzo because she was so sassy.
To answer the question honestly, no there hasn’t been a show I didn’t think I wouldn’t like. If I didn’t think I’d like a show, I wouldn’t go see it. However, I like to try new things so I have gone to see a wide variety of shows, but have always gone with an open mind and always figure even if it wasn’t my “cup of tea” it would be a new experience.
I saw The Bachelors this winter and I was expecting it to be hilarious, but I didn’t laugh out loud once. I was eight and a half months pregnant at the time, so was really excited to get out and have a good laugh, so was even more disappointed that I didn’t find it all that funny.
