CONCESSIONS SUPERVISOR

As an employee of the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, you will provide the best in customer service while working as an ambassador for the live performing arts. In addition, you will be cultivating an active interest in the Center as the premier venue for performance art, education programming and as a gathering place for the community.

Under the general supervision of the food and beverage manager, this part-time position is responsible for supervising and coordinating the Center’s food and beverage operation and staff that work as bartenders, runners, stockers, and valet attendants during events.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  ADMINISTRATIVE
  Assists in the training and orientation materials for concessions staff.
  Schedules, creates an agenda, and leads pre-show and pre-intermission meetings on a regular basis.
  Assists in maintaining accurate concessions employee records relating to scheduling, payroll, and disciplinary actions.
  Coordinates staffing needs to ensure a world class level of customer service during events and performances.
  Assists the food and beverage manager on a directed basis in general administrative duties including but not limited to; developing policies and procedures, ordering of product, preparing event folders, and scheduling staff for performances and events.
  OPERATIONS
  Works with the event’s manager on duty to perform the nightly cash reconciliation after each event.
  Ensures satisfactory closing duties are performed by concessions/valet staff after each event.
  Effectively and attentively works to solve guest concerns and complaints.
  Assists in maintaining adequate staffing levels necessary for the successful operation of events and performances at the Center. 
  Responsible for supervision of concessions staff working as bartenders, runners, stockers, dessert attendants, water attendants, and valet drivers during events in the facility.
  Actively enforces the Center’s guidelines and policies concerning Health Code and Liquor License.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 

This position requires excellent communication skills, with the ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of a moderately large group of semi-skilled and skilled workers.  Computer literacy is required with a working knowledge of Office Word, and Excel.  Applicants must be able to work with minimal supervision and have the ability and willingness to work long and irregular hours.  Applicants must be able to make quick and effective decisions, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, handle multiple and diverse tasks, supervise and develop a team approach, and anticipate problems or identify them before significant impact on service delivery. Applicants must retain a valid bartender’s license for Appleton, WI and enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a sense of humor.
